Since Gozuki had already his own mission, he passed it to Akame. Najenda makes her debut in Akame ga Kill Zero when Saikyuu gives Gozuki a new mission to kill her after the operation in Mount Hakuba. She lost both her right eye and arm in the short ensuing battle against Esdeath. During a mission to eliminate a Revolutionary army base, Najenda informed her army of her plan to defect from the Empire that they agreed with her. Because of that she and her troops became a target of Imperial troops and eventually Esdeath's army. She was a colleague of Esdeath, accompanying her on a past expedition for the Empire. Najenda was once a General of the Empire who decided to defect after realizing how corrupt the current regime was. She tends to have a habit of telling "cold jokes" and making bad puns. Najenda is sometimes mistaken for a man due to her boyish appearance, even sometimes being nicknamed "The Hunk of the Rebellion" by her cohorts. Her years of experience serving in the Empire as a General have made her a highly capable leader. Najenda is taciturn, sharp-minded and level-headed, she leads the group with a surprisingly gentle-but-firm air. When she was younger, her hair was longer and she wore it tied and braided. In the Japanese version, the woman is voiced by Rika Mayama, who sings the second anime opening Liar Mask.Najenda is a woman with short, silver hair and purple eyes.In the English dub, she's credited as an "Informant". She was never addressed with a proper name, but rather referred to as a "Palace Maid" on the anime's official website.Syura responded to her request with a maniacal laughter, noting that he had already killed them, thus leading to her subsequent defection from the Empire to the Revolutionary Army, all for nothing to begin with. As she succumbed to her previously inflicted wound, the maid told Syura to remember this as a token of her service to him and asked of Syura to release her parents from his custody. With his attention diverted, Lubbock managed to trap Syura within the reach of his threads, but before he could get a chance to question him, the woman picked up Syura's knife and stabbed Lubbock in the back with it. In the midst of the battle, the woman grabbed hold of Lubbock in order to assist Syura, while apologizing at the same time for her betrayal. Sneaking past the courtyard, they head to the group's hideout, only to find out their allies were killed and their bodies rigged with bombs.īarely evading the massive explosion, they were quickly ambushed by Syura and Budo. The maid was tasked to meet with Tatsumi and Lubbock in order to assist them in infiltrating the royal palace. However, she valued her parents' lives overall, willing to betray and sacrifice the rebels for the sake of her family, even if it meant for the woman to forfeit her own life. She was sympathetic to the Revolutionary cause when aiding Tatsumi and Lubbock in infiltrating the royal palace. The maid generally had a calm persona and spoke with a soft tone. She donned a reddish dress with a lavender blue, shoulder-length hooded cloak and brown shoes. The maid was a young woman with purple eyes and short, blue hair with locks hanging freely from each side.
